How We Review AI Tools — Mr Review AI Editorial Methodology

Every score on Mr Review AI is earned, not bought. This page explains exactly how we test tools, how we calculate scores, and what we will never do.

The short version: We sign up. We use it. We document what we find — the good and the bad. We publish the truth.

1. We Test With Real Accounts

Every tool we review is tested with a real account — free plan, paid plan, or both. We do not accept vendor demos. We do not review based on press releases or marketing materials.

What this means in practice:

  • We sign up the same way you would
  • We note exactly which plan we tested and when
  • We track real usage data — credits used, minutes generated, features accessed
  • We document limitations we actually hit, not limitations listed in the FAQ

If we only tested the free plan, we say so. If we paid for a subscription, we say that too. You always know the basis for our score.

2. The Minimum Test Period

We do not publish a review after one hour of use. Our minimum testing standard:

  • Free plan reviews: At least 3 days of active use — enough to hit real limits
  • Paid plan reviews: At least one full billing cycle
  • “Best of” roundups: Every tool in the list must meet the minimum standard above

If a tool is too new to meet these standards, we say it’s an early impression — not a full review.

3. How We Calculate the Trust Score

Every AI tool on Mr Review AI receives a Trust Score from 0 to 100. The score is the average of five equally-weighted criteria:

CriteriaWeightWhat We Measure
Value for Money20%What do you get per dollar? Free plan generosity counts.
Free Plan20%How usable is the tool before you pay?
Ease of Use20%Time to first result. Learning curve. UI clarity.
Features20%Does it have what serious users need? Not just what’s on the landing page.
Transparency20%Clear pricing, honest limitations, no hidden gotchas.

Scores are not rounded up. A 73 is a 73 — not bumped to 75.

4. We Update When Things Change

AI tools change pricing, features, and quality constantly. We commit to:

  • Marking every review with the date it was last verified
  • Re-testing tools when major updates are released
  • Adjusting scores up or down based on what we find — including downgrading a previously high score if quality drops

If a review is more than 6 months old without a verified update, we flag it.

5. What We Will Never Do

This is the line we will not cross, ever:

  • We will never sell a Trust Score. No tool can pay to rank higher.
  • We will never remove a negative review because a vendor asked.
  • We will never publish a review we haven’t tested ourselves.
  • We will never inflate a score to protect an affiliate relationship.
  • We will never hide a conflict of interest. If we have one, we disclose it in the review.

Affiliate commissions fund this platform. They do not influence scores. The two systems are completely separate — by design.

6. How to Report a Problem

If you believe a review is inaccurate, outdated, or unfair — tell us. We take every challenge seriously.

Contact: hello@mrreviewai.com
Subject line: Review Challenge — [Tool Name]

We will investigate and respond within 5 business days. If we find the score needs to change, we change it and note the correction publicly.

About the Author

Mr Review AI Team

This review was researched and tested hands-on by the Mr Review AI editorial team. We create real accounts, run actual campaigns, and document every limitation we encounter — no vendor demos, no copied spec sheets. Our reviews are editorially independent: no tool pays for a score or placement, ever. Where we have affiliate relationships, we disclose them transparently on each page.
