This Privacy Policy describes how the MrReviewAI Chrome Extension (“Extension”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles user data. We are committed to being fully transparent — no data is collected, sold, or shared with any third party.
1. What data we collect
The MrReviewAI Chrome Extension does NOT collect any personal data from users. We do not collect:
- Names, email addresses, or any personally identifiable information (PII)
- Browsing history or visited URLs
- Search queries or keystrokes
- Location data
- Device identifiers or fingerprints
- Cookies from other websites
- Financial or payment information
2. How the Extension works
When you visit an AI tool or SaaS website, the Extension:
- Detects the current website’s domain (read-only, never sent externally)
- Checks a local cache in your browser’s storage for matching AI tool data
- If no cache exists, fetches publicly available rating data from mrreviewai.com via its API
- Displays a Trust Score badge on the page for your convenience
All data fetched from mrreviewai.com is public information — the same data visible to anyone visiting mrreviewai.com. No personal data is included in any API request.
3. Local storage usage
The Extension uses Chrome’s local storage (chrome.storage.local) solely to cache AI tool rating data fetched from mrreviewai.com. This means:
- Cached data contains only tool names, Trust Scores, and review summaries — all publicly available
- Data is stored locally on your device only — never transmitted to any server
- Cache refreshes automatically every hour to stay up-to-date
- You can clear this data at any time via Chrome’s extension storage settings
4. Permissions used
The Extension requests only the minimum permissions needed to function:

We do not use any tracking or analytics tools within the Extension. There are no:
- Google Analytics or similar trackers
- Advertising SDKs or ad networks
- Third-party data brokers
- Session recording or heatmap tools
6. Third-party services
The Extension communicates only with mrreviewai.com (our own domain) to fetch public rating data. No data is shared with any other third party. The mrreviewai.com website has its own Privacy Policy governing website visitors.
7. Data retention
Since we do not collect personal data, there is nothing for us to retain or delete on our end. Cached data stored in your browser’s local storage can be removed at any time by:
- Uninstalling the Extension (clears all local storage automatically)
- Going to chrome://extensions → MrReviewAI → Details → Clear storage
8. Children’s privacy
The Extension is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. Since we collect no personal data from any user, this applies equally to all age groups.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
